The L-Project Presents 2nd Annual Women’s Freedom Festival at WeHo Pride 2023

The L-Project LA is celebrating the 2023 Women's Freedom Festival on Saturday, June 3rd from 12-6 pm at the West Hollywood Pride Community Stage.

The L-Project, an historically lesbian non-profit 501(c)3 organization founded by Elisabeth Sandberg in 2015, proudly presents the 2023 Women’s Freedom Festival which aims to celebrate LGBTQ+BIPOC artists.

The event returns for a second year and will be by hosted by Jackie Steele and Stevi Shari and will take place at the West Hollywood Pride Street Fair Community Stage on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 12-6pm.

The 2023 Women’s Freedom Festival will be a day full of art, music, and protesting with performances by Madame GandhiMila Miranda, Shiah LunaDJ AshaMariah CountsMortasayKrisizz KPAudley MusicJFP,DJ Crystal IrisCherry Bomb Baes, and Kingqueen. Guest speakers will feature Queen Chela,Jayla Baxter, and Liana Georgi to amplify lesbian voices in the center of Boy’s Town during the famous annual West Hollywood Pride. 

The L-Project LA believes that elevating emerging artists within the queer community is vitally important because it gives marginalized creatives, especially, women and non-binary creatives, an opportunity to showcase their talents on stages and venues that have been closed to them in the past – including previous WeHo Pride events. The Women’s Freedom Festival provides a platform for representation within the community. 

Community partners will include She Angels FoundationJewish Foundation LACalifornia Families in Focus – Long BeachBlack Lesbians United (BLU), and Earthlodge Center for Transformation – Long Beach, among many more, plus experience a variety of unique artists and vendors throughout the festival. 

Following the festival’s conclusion at 6 pm, the evening of pride and protest continues with the Dyke March rally, with the Motorcycle Contingent for Equality leading the march down Santa Monica Blvd.
