Cometa Sucre’s Shoegaze Single ‘Alguna Vez’ Preps for Forthcoming LP, ‘El Echo Eterno’

Cometa Sucre share their romantic side on their latest single taken off their upcoming LP.

Cometa Sucre share their third single of the year and display a romantic facet to the band’s discography. Taken off their upcoming album El Echo Eterno due next year, the Ecuador-based band develops a melodious portal on “Alguna Vez.” Led by shoegaze, progressive rock, and undertones of Latin-Pop, the single combats memories that can’t help be remembered.

“Alguna Vez” acts as the band’s first track to speak on direct, romantic love. Lyrics are poetic and shudder with a haunt of someone and just the same, accepts this fate: El tiempo pasa lento (Time goes slow) / Muy lejos oigo tu voz (far away, I hear your voice) / El eco eterno de estar (the eternal echo of being) /Cerca de tu amor (close to your love).”

The emotional picture leans on the expansive sensory of shoegaze and synths which echos akin to its past love. Its combination hails to Soda Stereo’s Dynamo LP, which is stated to be a direct influence, and levels its spacey poise with a crunch of progressive rock.

Cometa Sucre have recently finished their first nation tour, playing the main festival in Guayaquil, El Funka Fest, and closing the year at the most important festival in the Ecuadorian capital, Quitofest.
