Third Man Records Announce Online ‘Garage Sale’ to Benefit Grassroots Organizations

Third Man Records announce online auction beginning Wednesday, August 26.

Third Man Records and Jack White have announced an online auction beginning Wednesday, August 26 which will feature guitars, stage equipment, and other one-of-a-kind items to benefit community grassroots organizations.

A portion of proceeds will benefit: John Peel Centre; Gideon’s Army, a local organization in Nashville that focuses solely on dismantling the school-to-prison pipeline; and the Detroit Phoenix Center who provides critical resources while supporting and creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment to high risk and homeless youth in Detroit.

Third Man Records utilized social distancing to clear out storage vaults at their headquarters and what is the best of their infrequently used studio gear and furniture. Other items for auction include stage monitor covers and pedalboards used on tour by The White Stripes, drum sets used in “Hardest Button To Button” video, guitars from White’s personal collection, and clothing used in video shoots. All items come directly from Third Man Records and have a certificate of authenticity.

Visitors must register an account to bid, and bids of $1,000 or above will be approved by an auction house. The auction will take place via Online Nashville Auctions from Wednesday, August 26 at 9am CST to Sunday, August 30 at 9pm CST.
