Rave The Vote Continues with Episode 2

Rave The Vote continues with Episode 2 of its voter registration, education campaign, and livestream rave.

Rave The Vote — a partnership with the DJ duo Soul Clap — continues its virtual mission to drive a younger crowd towards voter registration with Episode 2 of their livestream event, Friday August 14 from 12 PM – Aug 15 at 2 AM. The event will be streamed on Lost Resort TV’s Twitch channel, which is ran by Infamous PR and 2+2 Management.

Rave The Vote carries an educational goal in mind while encouraging voter registration and donations to the Movement for Black Lives. The series is split into twelve-hour broadcasts throughout a four-day span from now until the November elections. The inaugural episode held more than 600,000 viewers to watch underground artists such as Ash Lauryn, DJ Spinna, Seth Troxler, and Soul Clap.

Episode 2 is boasting of festival party crews and heavyweights from Desert Hearts to Dirtybird’s Justin and Christian Martin, to a more electro-pop sound with Sofi Tukker. More educational segments will be available this round featuring Recreation and Parks Commissioner of Los Angeles and Chief Strategist of CicLAvia Tafarai Bayne, comedian and journalist Francesca Fiorentini, the KCRW Radio DJs, Executive Producer of the Coachella livestream and founder of URB Magazine Raymond Roker, and voter trivia with Miss Barbie-Q.

What is self-dubbed as a “progressive riff” from Rock The Vote, this event is designed to reach new voters in the underground house and techno community.

“Rave The Vote is designed to reach a new band of young voters, specifically those who believe in the central tenets of dance music: inclusivity, free expression, and fair treatment for all,” shares the organization on their website.

“The series couldn’t come at a more pivotal time, a moment when Black lives, gay and trans rights, and the future of the nightlife industry are being tested and threatened on a daily basis by city leaders and representatives in Washington. (Let us never forget that house and techno are inherently political movements, founded by queer and black communities in search of a sound and sanctum.) That’s why our voice––and more importantly, our vote––matters more than ever. And there’s simply no room for complacency; in 2016, less than half of Americans aged 18 to 29 showed up and cast their vote.”
