Sarah Walk Debuts ‘Nobody Knows’ Ahead of New Record

Sarah Walk's powerful "Nobody Knows" breaks apart the hushed thoughts resurfacing during quarantine.

The latest video by Minneapolis’ own Sarah Walk, “Nobody Knows,” resonates outward from the daily life of quarantine. As drums move to the beat of her typewriter, she hammers out raw emotion through its intimate mechanics while the rhythm of her morning unfolds in chores and attempts to write.

Cut from her forthcoming sophomore record, this sultry bout of soft chants reflects an inner monologue littered with doubt. The video itself is inspired by this sentiment, highlighting a deep writer’s block surrounded by distraction. Inspiration is fleeting as the coffee loses steam and before you know it, dinner time. We are reminded, maybe haunted, by the fact that sparks aren’t promised – they’re initiated.

Produced by Leo Abrahams, whose credentials a la Regina Spektor, David Byrne and Brian Eno spare no expense – Sarah’s forthcoming record, Another Me, is out August 28th via One Little Independent.
