Spacey Jane continue to enamor on their latest single “Skin.” Following a string of singles, which threw them towards a rising passage of fame in Australia, Spacey Jane announce their anticipated debut album, Sunlight, set for release June 12 via AWAL.
On “Skin,” the Perth-based four piece hone in on the golden hour of sounds. While there’s a laid-back essence to the bright chords and surf inspired riffs, there seems to be a tinge of bitter-sweetness to the vocals with each growing line (“you call me up just to tell me that you kissed him”). They rise above a calm register in tone and grapple with relief, which seems to already be found in sound. The indie-pop cadence is softhearted, mirroring the intimacy of skin and the stories that itself holds. Paired with an anthemic break and chorus, “Skin” is a flushing melody that you can’t wash off, and wouldn’t want to.
“We’re so incredibly excited to finally be putting out our first ever album – it’s been a long time in the making and we can barely keep still over it!,” shares Spacey Jane in regards to their debut album. “Just a couple more months of waiting.”
Spacey Jane will make their way to the UK for festival performances in May, including The Great Escape, Live At Leeds, Dot To Dot, and more.
May 2- Live At Leeds, Leeds
May 3 – Hit The North, Newcastle
May 6 – Sebright Arms, London
May 14/16 – The Great Escape, Brighton
May 19 – The Lexington, London
May 22-24 – Dot to Dot Festival
