Vita and the Woolf Shares ‘Operator’ Ahead of Forthcoming LP ‘Anna Ohio’

Vita and The Woolf get lost in space on latest video "Operator" ahead of forthcoming LP 'Anna Ohio.'

Jen Pague, better known under the moniker Vita and The Woolf, shares the music video for her latest single “Operator” taken off her forthcoming LP Anna Ohio due May 8 via Tender Loving Empire. What comes as a follow-up to her 2017 debut TUNNELS and empowering anthem “Mess Up,” the latest collection treks the path of self-discovery. Fittingly so, “Operator” explores distance and change, a factor ignited after a move to Los Angeles.

As the track itself revolves around a simple act of finding a home for Pague’s dog, Xena, after the artist’s move, it slowly burns into a larger act of reflection. Lines echo “I’m not your girl” and wander from a statement to a question.

“It’s about dealing with those emotions of cutting ties, making sacrifices, and leaving behind the past in order to move on to a new place in life,” shares the artist.

Ultimately it acts as a futuristic voice message left when you’re moving on, intertwining with the album’s theme. It rests on an electronic bed of déjà vu, grounding its messaging only by bass lines. A listener can become so entangled by Pague’s lush vocals its easy to miss the layers that swarm the hook.

As for the track’s visual counterpart, it sweetly leaves Pague in a state of peace. The galactic interpretation of hitting the road in a van covered in foil paper is charming, to the say the least, and lightens the track’s words. From getting lost to meeting space pooches, the video’s stellar adoration almost ends too soon and begs for constant repeats.

Be sure to catch the artist live this spring.
