Brighton-based trio, Lazybones, shared their latest single and accompanying video last year for those moments when satisfactory word vomit spews from your mouth. “Trash Talk,” aptly titled, takes a viewer through a one-shot direction “day in the life,” and sees Lazybones saunter on a job without any remorse. Candi Underwood (vocals and Hammond Organ), Joe Tighe (bass), and Sam Barnes (drums) move with the three minutes to deliver a royal send off that we could all use from time to time.
The track walks an aggressive lead and saunters for a blistering punch of pop-punk coded in the hook. Underwood’s vocals are bright, bending with distorted guitar strums for a melodic, forced shrill. Sonically balancing the temperament from being on the edge to ironically composing commercial ear worms, Lazybones finds a way to put their D.I.Y. aesthetic on a higher platform. Even more so, the track never rests and is cohesively full despite only being a trio. A sign that always calls for energetic performances.
After a successful UK tour in early 2019, with a string of shows that followed, the band continues their momentum in March throughout Brighton and Bristol.
