HalleyClub Anniversary Solidifies Faith in Madrid’s Underground

Celebrating their 4 year anniversary, the venue transported listeners through a cosmic journey all night featuring some of the country’s best national acts.

Located far from the city center in the Southeast neighborhood of Vallecas, HalleyClub works as Madrid’s essential space for the underground. The club’s philosophy is based on the visionary comet, Halley, a celestial bolide only visible to our earth every 76 years. This narrative of fleeting moments in space is accentuated in HalleyClub, where the community shares a passion for electronic music. Finding solace in the underground, the venue sees clubbing as an essential representation of our delicate modernity and enduring youth.

Celebrating their 4 year anniversary, the venue transported listeners through a cosmic journey all night featuring some of the country’s best national acts. The clandestine venue features one of Madrid’s best sound systems, accentuated in an intimate space, affirming an exceptional listening experience for every partygoer. Mordisco, Savino, Comich Comich, and resident Ponziano took the party on a sonic voyage, exploring various textures of electronica.

Madrid-based curator Savino brought a versatile 2 hours, taking his set through extraordinary juxtapositions, from deep house cuts to articulate discourses of techno. Granada based headliner, Mordisco, took an alternative route for the rest of the night. Although only one half of the duo was present, he focused on spinning their signature nu disco and house based sound, largely informed by indie structures. As HalleyClub orchestrated one of the best local lineups to date, I look forward to encountering their next stellar celebration soon. Get a taste of HalleyClub below and be sure to keep up with them for more surprises in the future.
