Boleros De Noche’s Second Concert of the Year Celebrates Boleros from Cuba & Mexico on June 16th at the Downey Theatre

Boleros De Noche will hold its second concert series of the year at a different venue, Downey Theatre on Sunday, June 16, featuring Lily Hernandez and Julian Torres.

Curated by its founder Roberto Carlos, Boleros De Noche is now in its fourth year and will hold its second concert series of the year at a different venue, Downey Theatre on Sunday, June 16. Boleros De Noche’s concert will celebrate boleros from Cuba and Mexico, featuring Latin Grammy-nominated Cuban singer, Lily Hernandez, and Mexican-American singer, Julian Torres. It’s open to attendees of all ages and lands on Father’s Day, which is fitting for a family gathering.

This showcase hails particularly special, considering the contrasting dynamics of each artist in relation to the spirit of the bolero. Latin Grammy-nominated singer Lily Hernandez — who began singing over 15 years ago in her home country of Cuba undiscovered until Calixto Oviedo discovered her talent through her first EP — brings salsa, timba and bossa nova to the mix. Hernandez’s expansive and emotive vocals calls for compelling performances.

Julian Torres, who hails from Hawthorne, CA, utilizes his Mexican heritage and love of mariachis throughout his performances. Possessing a signature strength in his vocal range and simultaneously an old fashioned vitality, Torres’ truly pays homage to his roots.

Boleros De Noche will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2019, Downey Theatre, 8435 Firestone Blvd, Downey, CA 90241, doors open at 6:00 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm and ends at 10:00 pm. Ticket prices start at $35 online at animoproduction.com/tickets. Student discounts available.
