Exclusive Premiere: KUBLA Makes Debut with Visceral Release ‘Changes’

Victoria based artist Kiaran McMillan inaugurates his solo project, KUBLA, with his debut single "Changes."

It’s not often you come across an artist who celebrates the union of contrasting themes; let alone a musician who exceptionally conveys life’s juxtapositions with his debut single. In efforts to carry a sincere conversation with listeners, Victoria based artist Kiaran McMillan inaugurates his solo project, KUBLA. The multi-instrumentalist speaks with his audience through timeless melodies and discerning criticism of the human condition. As “Changes” is informed by psychological concepts, the artist challenges traditional songwriting, creating a captivating experience for those who engage with his profound composition.

The project is driven by a smooth and intuitive textures; arming KUBLA with a sound that recalls artists like Vulfpeck and Tom Misch. Recently sharing opening slots with artists like Daniel Caesar and making a number of appearances at Canadian festivals, KUBLA demonstrates a strong presence among Victoria’s contemporary music scene. As KUBLA begins his self-directed journey of personal immersion and reflection we look forward to his artistic development. Be sure to keep up with the artist below.
