‘Made in Palestine’: PMX Announces Third Installment to Bridge International Gap

PMX is geared towards providing Palestinian artists with opportunities to showcase their music, learn new skills, and connect with the global music industry, aiming to celebrate the existing music scene in Palestine and lift up rising artists globally.

The universal language of music can be overlooked as that, universal, for not only a listener but a musician. This notion applies to the many Palestinian artists who are struggling to make a dent within the international music scene due to political conditions and the lack of a general music industry.

For the third installment, the Palestine Music Expo will gather many within the industry to Ramallah for a three-day event in April of music, knowledge, and inspiration surrounding this year’s theme, Made in Palestine. Featuring representatives from around the world, such as record companies, music journalists, festival promoters and booking agencies, the event’s panels and workshops will provide the necessary tools for local artists.

Another unique and considerate aspect of PMX is seen in their educational tours. The expo will take music representatives and international delegates around the West Bank borders and refugee camps to the musicians whose “mobility rights are restricted” so they are still able to learn about the music industry.

This year’s musical lineup provides the world a glimpse of the rather diverse musical scene of Palestine such as Ettijah, who are talented MC’s scaling English and Arabic raps to the angst and poetic lines of DAM دام. Dive into the expo’s official playlist below and explore the scene.

Tickets are open to the general public and may be purchased here. If you are a music industry representative and would like to attend, you may also do so through the expo’s contact page.
