Artist Spotlight: Arty Basqiyah

Arty Basqiyah continues to be Las Vegas’ best kept secret with his versatility on an array of releases.

Arty Basqiyah continues to be Las Vegas’ best kept secret with his versatility on an array of releases. Formerly known as BraveheART, Basqiyah brings you a track that highlights his versatility, Love Kills.”

A bar studded lengthy verse over a 9th Wonder production that claims to all that there is no competition against him. It’s obvious that no fucks were given while writing “Love Kills” as he kindly reminds you why he’s better than your favorite rapper. Pieced together with a video by Silly Japan, the visual compliments the sample on the 9th Wonder production with distortion, cuts and edits.

Basqiyah then follows with Young Flower Pot, a 16 track full length album that continues to show his versatility. Every song feels as if it’s written in a poetic fashion; a testament to self-love. Melodic vocals and lyrical raps remind us that hip-hop is alive and well as they are placed over boom bap, and a funk driven and soulful production.

Fourteen of the sixteen tracks were self-produced, which is refreshing to see great vocal artists who can produce for themselves. It adds cohesiveness to the project when you know exactly what you want it to sound like, and that’s what Basqiyah does with Young Flower Pot — gives the listener an inside look into not only the artist but the person as well.
