GRiZ Embraces Encouraging Ethos with Matisyahu on ‘A New Day’

Harnessing Matisyahu’s reggae influence for an unlikely collaboration between GRiZ and the Grammy nominated artist gave opportunity for the artists to contemplate the state of senseless violence sweeping across the country.

Reflecting upon the tragedies at Stoneman Douglas, days later the two found themselves in the studio reflecting upon these events, with an innate need to activate change. Channeling an attitude of social action, the collaborators brought about the emotive “A New Day” in pursuits of conveying consciousness and feeling into music. GRiZ crafts the single with sobering qualities, showcasing Matisyahu’s seamless songwriting to proclaim a message of positivity. Channeling dancehall influences with radiant percussions, GRiZ lays the foundation for an illuminating single.

The new single comes as a far departure to the electronic mainstream. GRiZ actively produces his latest single with sensibility and depth, engaging in a thoughtful music process that sets him apart from an otherwise production driven scene. However, the producer doesn’t fail to overlook his future funk sound, injecting “A New Day” with energetic electro-soul. As GRiZ prepares for a highly-anticipated release on April 5th with his Ride Waves LP, we look forward to seeing the growth of his musical positivity. Be sure to keep up with the artist below and catch him on an extensive tour around the States.
