Ret Madison is why you show up for the openers. As if subconsciously summoning the world, Rett Madison thanked the ever-increasing crowd for showing up early. The West Virginia-born, LA based folk outfit got the warm welcome they deserved.

Lauren Ruth Ward’s set brought the most on stage, sporting two pairs of singers on either side who belted out the young artist’s lyrics with every cc of soul space. As if blooming in defiance of winter, LRW emerged progressively from a recessed position on her stage, taking the mic and dancing around her fellow musicians like a crisp breeze. The green light of the venue felt cold, but LRW brought the heat.
