When three singer-songwriters, Ariana Tibi, Ashley Maietta and McKail Seely, came together for a quick brainstorm session, they had no idea of the musical chemistry their meeting would inspire. Bonding over their goosebump-inducing harmonies, the trio decided to bottle this bit of magic, and thus, Luci was born. Their combined creative energies have produced a unique blend of folk, soul, and Americana, melded together with ear-pleasing pop sensibilities. With a 2016 EP and a 2017 studio single under their belts, Luci is currently working on their debut full length album.
Luci’s first single since July of last year is “Ashes (Stripped).” Simple instrumentation highlights the true star of the track – the trio’s ethereal harmonies. Well-crafted and tight, the vocals swell and recede throughout the short piece, revealing a striking depth of emotion. As told by Tibi, “The whole story started brewing after we witnessed the aftermath of a heated argument between our close friend and their significant other.” The track details how love can make us blind to relationship issues until they explode in a brilliant flame of passion and heartbreak.
Luci will be opening for legends Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo on August 11th at Pershing Square, as part of a free summer concert series.
