Sweet and heartwarming, The Aces most recent single “Waiting For You” offers a side-note of romance, or as the band explains, the most “romantic ballad”, from their highly anticipated album, When My Heart Felt Volcanic, via Red Bull Records. The Utah quartet glaze their alternative rock with a softer charm, clinging to pop melodies and delivered with an infectious amount of sincerity. Stringing these emotions with a sense of simplicity, “Waiting For You” embodies a feat of culture and heart that will never go out of style.
“When we were writing the track we were really trying to tune into what the beginning of a new romance feels like. That excitement and anxiety and just desperately wanting that person to reach for your hand. The song captures that very moment of being on the verge of spilling all of your emotions to that person.”
Subtle bass lines bubble under the scene of new love and pinpoints those long awaited moments of when magic occurs. Without pushing too far into the pop world, The Aces find this balance of indie-pop through melodic verses and a catchy chorus. A true hint of innocence is sweetly spelled with the intent of waiting and displays a welcoming side of duality from the band.
