Everett Bird Spills ‘Bucket of Dark Meat’ Over Anxiety and Psychedelic Tones

Montreal gents unveil their first single from their forthcoming debut album on Royal Mountain Records.

Montreal-based band, Everett Bird, unleash their single “Bucket of Dark Meat” from their forthcoming debut album, People Person.  The dual nature of the track takes addictive cues from the swirls of psychedelic and submerges them within intricate breaks, constantly keeping the momentum fresh. Instantly charming with a bright demeanor, the tempo-changes reflect the constant push and pull the track’s weight seems to bring to the light.

“’Bucket of Dark Meat’ was the first song we wrote for the album. The song is about the feeling of anxiety a person gets when it seems like everyone is being more productive than you. On the other end, the song is about suppressing that feeling with things that make you happy,” explains the band.

Alongside adaptive and fluid vocals that cling to the track’s change, “Bucket of Dark Meat” is a promising insight to what the band can deliver through the simplest of notions.

Everett Bird joins Royal Mountain Records (Mac DeMarco, Ought, Calpurina) with their debut ‘People Person’ (out Feb. 23). Pre-order here: People Person
