Jadea Kelly ‘GOOD GIRL’

Dreamy, empowering, and simply adoring. Canadian artist Jadea Kelly premieres her latest video today, “GOOD GIRL” off her Love & Lust album. The pop embellished track easily becomes an anthem for independent women breaking free and finding happiness within themselves. Despite the track’s initial theme of cutting losses from a toxic relationship, the video takes a more celebratory route, portraying women in all their glory and comfort alone.

“As a female songwriter I am surrounded by some pretty incredible women. They are songwriters, producers, performers, photographers, videographers, mothers, dancers, label heads, agents, promoters and some of the most inspiring / supportive people in my life. ‘Good Girl’ was written for them alongside pop producer / songwriter Robyn Dell’Unto. We wanted a pop anthem that celebrated female independence in the music industry and in our own personal lives and relationships,” expresses Kelly about the video.

Set in a venue, simple, intimate shots of a variety of women in Kelly’s life are seen dancing — an admirable expression of finding comfort in one’s skin. Kelly’s soft vocals carry heavy lines and glides across the track’s subtle indie core while back-handing the notion of being a “good girl.” Stemming from honesty and tribulations of reality, a quality that made the Love & Lust album enduring, “GOOD GIRL” continues Kelly’s sly smile given at the end of success.
