Montreal trio, Raveen, unveil their latest single and title track from their forthcoming debut EP, set to be released July 28th via So Sorry Records. The three-minute track is a modern orchestrated pop ballad that seems to cross lines with electronic and ambient boundaries. Opening with an angelic and weightless sound, “Always” slowly grows, revealing layers of instrumental beauty. As vivid and delicate as the track’s nature may be, there’s a subtle tug of the heart, slightly darker, that’s embedded within the vocals. Raveen’s layers of depth and keen structures heard on “Always” can only hint at greater intricacy to be heard on the album.
“This track came together immediately after our singer/producer Eric took a long and introspective trip to Europe. There’s a lot of love in this song. Thematically, it serves as a good summary of the of rest of the record; themes of loss as it relates lost love but also grief, and the perceived loss of something magic in the early stages of adulthood.” – Raveen
