LISTEN: Smooth Jazz Vibes Punctuate Danii Roundtree’s Single ‘Crave’

With the smooth retro whisper of a Sunday morning, soul artist Danii Roundtree sweetens our morning coffee with her newest single ‘Crave’.  Certainly, Danii Roundtree is a multi-faceted powerhouse of beauty and talent, holding the title of Miss New York USA 2008 and competing in the Miss USA 2008 pageant. She was also an American Idol finalist in the show’s 8th season, proving that she can appeal to even the broadest audiences.

Still, Danii Roundtree doesn’t compromise on talent and hard work despite having a litany of assets to rely on. She discovered her love for music at the age of 11 and has been singing and performing ever since. She pursued a higher education at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA which is known for the talented artists it’s program produces. This youthful, elegant and radiantly talented Atlanta-based R&B artist is a rising star in the Jazz community. Her old-fashioned glamour coupled with unbridled passion in her live performance and recorded material has rendered her a force to be reckoned with and garnered her a lot of attention within the music industry.

Danii Roundtree has a busy year ahead of her, as her debut album titled Memoirs is set to be released in the summer of 2017. Additionally, she is scheduled to perform for an audience of 120,000 attendees at the 40th annual Atlanta Jazz Festival at the end of May, which is a coveted spot for young jazz artists.  That being said, Danii’s soulful voice and good vibin’ music is the calm and serenity we need to get us all through the stresses and setbacks of the next few weeks leading up to the beginning of summer!

Likes: Lecturing on social inequalities, cats, gay bars, grilled cheese, hokey crystal stores and binge watching Forensic Files. Dislikes: Racism, hot sauce that isn't hot enough, parking tickets. Aria lives in Silver Lake, Los Angeles with her two cats and two roommates who actually own and care for the cats. She received her B.A. in Sociology from Southeastern Louisiana University and the degree itself now sits in the back of her closet gathering dust. She can usually be found haunting the Echoplex or Charles Bukowski's old hangout, the Smog Cutter. She isn't very friendly but would give you the shirt off her back if you asked, depending on which shirt it is.
