In anticipation for his debut Stones Throw Records release — Jardín out January 27th — Gabriel Garzón-Montano releases a sexy new single as a follow-up to “Sour Mango.”
With the right amount of funk against a silky R&B vibe, “Crawl” is a track that has marinated to perfection. Pairing a hard-hitting and laid back bass riff with Garzón-Montano’s vocals, the production is clean, fresh, and one of the best things to bless the beginning of 2017. The track’s brass and rhythm adds the essential elements of lust and sexuality, in between the seemingly innocent momentum that hides the stimulating lyrics.
After releasing his debut LP, Bishouné: Alma del Huila (2014), the artists’ approach was being slept on, and possibly ahead of its time. Yet, the best things are worth waiting for and Garzón-Montano is definitely an artist whose unique craft and style will achieve great things this year.
