Musically influenced by the 70s with splashes of the 80s, dripped in a Cher influence, Wales artist Betsy continues to display her undeniable talent and sheer pop-grace throughout the course of this year. Following up “Lost and Found” with her single and video, “Wanted More,” Betsy once again effortlessly displays her allure and talent.
Besides being an obvious style icon, Betsy’s emotions become a staple throughout the video. The cross of her deep, and rich contralto voice, with the soft appeal of femininity, creates an undeniable strength that Betsy embodies – echoing through the lyrics, “You know I needed you more/ than you could ever give to me / you know I wanted it all / body and soul.”

As the video follows the stages of romance, from fluttering butterflies to clipped wings, “Wanted More” dives deep into the realm of self-love and the ultimate choice of walking away from hands who don’t willing give. Powered by a triumphant chorus, with the right amount of brass, the pop anthem breaks away the noise of self-doubt into a redefined new beginning.
According to V Magazine Betsy states that “Wanted More” was stemmed from a past relationship: “‘Wanted More’ tells the story of my relationship with a devilishly handsome but deviously untrustworthy model. His role in the video is inspired by some incredible images of wrestlers going about their day to day lives by Lourdes Grobet. Unbeknown to me this forever distant man turned out to be married. Eventually I decided to say enough is enough and walk away!”
With a chicken in hand (yes, Betsy leaves with her chicken), something magical occurs at the grace of Betsy.
