New York artist Varick not only exemplifies a transcending energy within his music, but careful consideration of his craft. Keith Varick hails to his spiritual interest on his latest album Veda I, and specifically on the track “Illusions.” The track takes a slower industrial, and electronic atmosphere filled with darkwave that you want to bathe in. Varick’s vocals bend to the ambience, and there is a profound Radiohead influence that can be heard.
Within the chorus the track takes a lighter textured approach while Varick’s vocals stimulate for an overall sensual after effect. Varick also mentions how “Illusions” stems from his influences and spiritual journey: “The first track on the record [is a] representative of the over themes on the rest of the album of disillusionment, spiritual searching, and enlightenment.”
