Music Monday Pick: Night Auditor Romance EP

 

Night Auditor, fronted by poet and composer Hilal Omar Al Jamal, released an EP at the start of the year titled Romance. The experimental pop band really nails it with this EP, a great follow-up to last year’s Drugzdilla. Centered on the titular track “Romance,” there are four songs total on this EP—three remixes and the original.

 

If you are on the look out for something cool, original, and just plain good I seriously recommend you check out Night Auditor. By using funky vocals and psychedelic melodies with soul, “Romance” is a carefully crafted, underrated gem. My favorite among the remixes features Nathaniel Eras, who somehow makes the song’s sound even more mystical. If you’re as big a fan of this EP as I am and a fan of all things nostalgic, I recommend you also check out Night Auditor on Bandcamp for their limited edition cassette versions of the EP, or check their song “Desert Wiles” off their Drugzdilla EP.
