“…you’re trying to be, you’re trying to be bulletproof..ohhh.”
This will be forever embedded in my head.
During my usual exploration through the music world on YouTube I stumbled across this amazing band from the U.K..
Honours, is a band from London that has a heavy influence of the 80’s and 90’s fused together to produce an upbeat alternative pop sound.
“Bulletproof” starts off with this heavy synth , catchy guitar riff, and a drum beat followed by voices “ohhh” -ing and it immediately catches your attention. As the song progresses this 80’s vibe fully emerges and is honestly one of the best upbeat, “alt-tech” fused song full of pop that I have had the pleasure to listen to for the year of 2014.
I don’t usually like any variation of pop, but I can’t stress to you how many times I’ve listened to this in one setting. No matter how well I can try to describe this to you, in the end you just need to listen to the song to know what I mean.
The video is also a piece of 80’s memorabilia. Flashback of shapes and figures floating along to the parade of heads that sing “Bulletproof.” Each face painted with assortment of colors and sync with the still animation.
To make my day even better it was on a YouTube Channel called, ” The Hyve,” which has amazing alternative-indie music from the U.K.
I have a soft spot for musicians from the U.K., as I assume any other American does, and if you want to be giddy as me, watch the channel, listen to the song, and be prepared for a new wave of alt-pop (see what I did there?).
